- Gynecology oncology
The division of gynecology oncology is a comprehensive model of care based on a longitudinal multidisciplinary care delivery from preevaluation screening, diagnosis treatment, follow-up to palliation and incorporation an integrated translational and heath services research program.
2. General obstetrics and gynecology
The generalist division of OB and GYN is diverse in its involvement in women’s health and its intimate kinks to the other divisions within our department of obstetrics and gynecology and newborn care. Through our commitment to excellence in clinical care, we are integral to the recruitment and participation of patients and staff in the many research activities of the Department.
Our commitment to teaching is demonstrated through the volume of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education provided in the SUMS Hospital. The other academic divisions within our Department would find it difficult to achieve their current educational commitment without the teaching support provided by the Generalist Division.
- Reproductive endocrinology and infertility
The Division of Reproductive Medicine was established in 1991 in programs of the Division have grown rapidly and now support a broad mandate which includes offering the services of integrated tertiary care in reproductive medicine and sciences to women and their partners;
Developing and evaluating state-of-the art (assisted reproductive technologies) to address problems in human reproduction.
The Division is the academic centre of choice in southern part
of Iran Ontario for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of
problems in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. We are
the only governmental provider of IVF clinical and laboratory
services in our region.
We offer multidisciplinary tertiary services that both respond to the needs of our patients and integrate scientific innovations from bench to the clinic and back to our partners.
The Division has kept up with rapid and continuous scientific changes. have been critical to this success. Local clinical partners include the Ottawa Rehabilitation Centre and the Genetics Department at CHEO.
